Single Woman or Single Mother?? : How unfortunate you are....

O my god! Are u single mother? Oh I can understand how you feel, how you are struggling....

Generally every single mother has to listen this.

These are not just a word or some lines, but it's a kind of indirect pointer to indicate that something is wrong in your life. In India among every 1000 women 100 (Tandon Figure Taken) are singles. Reason could be different as per an individual. In many cases, women have to face a lot of issues once they are given a single tag.

We talk about gender equality and respect of woman, but when it comes to being a single mother, the society sees her with pity. If we analyze the situation in depth, situation is getting worse as far as the case of a single mother is concerned.

On one side, she has to fight with her own emotions and on other; this hypocritical world will not allow you to live happily. I am not here to talk about what people think. I am here to focus on more important challenges which a single woman goes through.

Being a single woman, she has her own choice and liking. Unfortunately still in our society people are not ready to take this situation in a healthy manner. Some time it becomes heart throbbing for a single woman. There are men in a society who give respect to every woman irrespective of any social status. But at the same time, there are men who want to take advantage of a single woman.

One of my friend confessed to me that she was approached by her own colleague for a physical relations. This is the time when an ex -boyfriend also tries to revive old relations. They pretend to be a well-wisher, but their main motto behind this relationship is entirely different. Being a woman in this scenario is the worst phase. This is the only time when a female/woman needs a true friend.

In general, the male dominating society is of the notion that a woman is kind of property for them. They keep every emotion aside and try to be in relationship. These kinds of men would not understand how disgusting a woman can feel. Every single mother just wants moral support from her friends and family members. There are many working areas where a single woman has to compromise, especially in the glamour industry. Recently in Big boss house, Shilpa Shinde also mentioned about casting couch.

Even in our Guajarati TV industry, many main lead actresses have to face lot of issues as they are single. (Sujata Mehta is one of the examples)

Some times, I wonder as they are a single mother, do they have to obey for these kinds of unethical demands? This is not today's issue, even many years before, women faced these issues.

The question here is does any woman need to compromise on these things? I firmly believe NO. Woman as an individual has her own dignity and respect. The men just for enjoyment in their lives are following this path. But it's not ethical.

As a society's responsible citizens, we need to help in putting a stop to these kinds of affairs. A woman is not a material. The male oriented society has to understand that. At the same time women also should learn to say NO. And always live life with dignity and without any unethical compromise. Women who come forward and talk about this issue should be seen with respect.

Even I feel that if any woman wants to develop any kind of relationship that should be left purely to her choice. Society is no one to comment on that. Now it's a time when we all have to stop wearing fake masks and should accept reality and give space to a single woman to live with freedom.
