Once a wealthy Shepherd had tamed a dog for watching his flock of sheep and save them from the attack of wolves. One day the dog asked the Master, " Sir! we see that you are feeding your dog so sumtuously daily that he has been growing stouter and stouter day by day whereas we are growing thiner and thinner. We do help you more than the dog. We give you wool, milk and meat which increase your annual income. We don't like such type of your partiality at all. We are working hard for you. But your dog is only sitting and gazing and nothing doing. "

The Shepherd replied the sheepwatcher pets! You are telling right. But you forget that you are comfortably grazing and living safely for him. Because he is safeguarding you daily. Otherwise the wild nonveg animals and wolves of the forest might have already eaten you up as yet. Always mind it carefully. As he is your protector he should be strong enough by intaking of balanced food. You are all vegetarians you cannot eat nonveg food. Here in the grasslands you also eating sumptuous healthy foods. Why are you comparing yourselves with my pet dog.? Give up this practice. This jealousy is bad for your health. "

The sheep of the Shepherd were very arrogant and obstinate. So they all unitedly protested against the watchdog and told their master, " Dear Sir! We don't like your sweet talk. We can not like the doggy to watch us henceforth. Moreover,we are 200 in numbers. We can be able to protect yourselves. We never want his assistance. Please never bring him here with you since tomorrow." The Shepherd was astonished and wanted to teach them a lesson. So he told, " OK all right. I will obey your advice. I will not bring him tomorrow with me. You will save yourselves." Eventually the sheep were pleased and started grazing happily.

Next day as per his promise the shepherd did so.  The sheep got mental satisfaction and began to graze. But that day was a irony of fate that, factually, a pack of wolves from the hill top attacked the sheep and killed near about a hundred sheep. There was a sudden stampede among the group of sheep. They ran away to their Master's house to save their lives. The Master was silently watching their activities. Next day after day break they started their routine duty. When the sheep reached the grassland at once they came to their master who was sitting on a big rock. The leader of the sheep apologize before his Master, " O my dear Master really I was mistaken and provoked all the sheep of the herd. Also I misunderstood your advice. So please excuse me Sir which I beg you on behalf of all my remaining fellows."

The Shepherd told, " OK don't worry. I pardoned you chaps. But I warn you never to repeat this behaviour in future. Bear in your mind that God has created all creatures with their respective status according to their talents and merits. So you should understand henceforward that my dog is your life saver whereof you got the solid proof yesterday. Had you followed my advice you might not be able to miss your poor group members in vain. Another advice you remember First deserve and then desire". " OK boss " replied the sheep leader. Then with a tearful eyes the leader told the watchdog, " Please dear friend! Excuse me and always you keep watch on us without fail from now on. " Then everything was as usual in Shepherd's life since that day and friendship developed among the sheep group and the watchdog.
