This humorous story tells us how arrogance and the feeling of revenge can result into one's own fall and pain.

The bucket of water in The Blue House was laden with dirt. The floor had been so dirty that it made the whole water go black. Poor Peris had been snowed under since morning but sometimes people have to work harder than they expect. Her beautiful almond eyes had a touch of tiredness. Her night black hair were coming out of her pony tail round her pretty carved face. She called her daughter for lunch. A beautiful girl came in her view wearing a pink frock, her eyes had a sparkle in them and her rose red cheeks added to her beauty. She walked with abundant pride just like a queen, just the difference was that she was engaged in her phone.

"Hey Daizy! Your footprints have messed up my hard work!" shouted her mother. " Oh! I didn't see you, by the way, why don't you keep a servant?" said Daizy arrogantly never leaving  sight of her phone. " Leave that phone and say sorry now" said Peris trying to control her anger. " YOU ONLY CALLED ME" shouted Daizy. " I did but you could have removed your slippers and don't talk to your elders like this" explained Peris. " I didn't see that you were cleaning the house and mom, we can have this discussion later, I am starving." Peris didn't argue more she knew that it will have no effect on Daizy.

Daizy's father had been listening to this talk and was really trying hard to think of a way to make her daughter realise her mistake. This was not the first time that she'd talked to her mother like this. Suddenly he remembered that he had to go to meet his friend.

Next day Daizy opened her eyes to see her phone but suddenly she heard "meau".  At the spur of moment she felt as if she had fallen in one of her dreams but then she heard it again and then what she saw made her forget to blink. A cat on her wardrobe! This had to be a dream,  she thought but then slowly the tabby cat moved towards her and climbed the bed. For a few second both of them kept staring at each other and then "AAAAGH!" She realised that she wasn't dreaming it was reality! Hearing her scream her parents approached. " What happened?" asked her mother. "Can't you see that cat?" asked Daizy. "Well, of course, we can. She is ours from now." Peris retorted. "What?" asked Daizy in disbelief. "Didn't you hear me?" asked Peris quite annoyed. "I did but how and why?" " Yesterday my friend gave her to me; he said that he can't take care of her so he gave her to me." said her father pleasantly. "Talks later and important things first. Me and your father are going for some work, have a good time with your new pet and take care of the house" said her mother sternly. "How much time do I have to spend alone with Selfie?" asked Daizy boringly. "Who?" asked her parents. "Selfie:the cat" answered Daizy. "Fine! Don't know, just lock the door from inside" commanded her father and she did so.

She returned to her room and saw Selfie sitting on her bed. "HEY! HOW DARE YOU SIT ON MY BED? yelled Daizy. "Meau" "WHAT?" "Meau" "ARE YOU MAD?" "Meau" "SHUT UP" "Meau" " SHUT UP AND GET OFF MY BED". Selfie jumped onto the floor like a good pet. Daizy breathed a sigh of relief. "What do you want to do,  you filthy creature?" "Meau." Selfie jumped at Daizy's head making her dance and trip in the dustbin. "YUK! SELFIE YOU ARE DOOMED!" After a shower she went to look for Selfie. But sometimes when people expect head, coin turns tail. She froze open mouthed  at the sight in front of her, the whole house had gone topsy-turvy. The drawing room cushion lay torn with it's  cotton like a snow fallen land. She moved slowly still in a deep shock and suddenly her head hit the floor, she had been so shocked by the view of cotton laden room that she'd missed the pebbles on the floor. Selfie arrogantly ramp walked and went to the dining room. "What a naughty cat!" Daizy thought.

All the anger in her for Selfie went like rainy  to sunny sky by just one look at her dining room. All the milk from the jar was flowing like a river and falling like a calm waterfall from the dinning table. Daizy had gone tired of this 'run from to give shock' game. She wished very hard for it to be a dream. She couldn't bear any more. She searched for Selfie and suddenly found her hiding behind the bottles kept in a shelf. Daizy in a very harsh voice ordered her to come, she wished for revenge. The anger which had subsided had risen again. Selfie dropped the bottle of Nutrella on her face. and jumped on the floor. "OUCH!" Daizy saw her cat going out of the room while murmuring in pain.

She gave up looking for Selfie and looked for her phone when she suddenly remembered that she had forgotten it in the bathroom. When she went in the bathroom she saw Selfie sitting on the rack and next to her was phone! Adding more trouble, there was a bucket of water under it. Daizy looked pleadingly at Selfie, but too late!  Selfie did, what Daizy feared utmost the moment! After this incident she was inconsolable. Her phone was the favourite thing in the house which was gone!

The doorbell rang, she still kept crying but when it rang the second time she wiped her tears and washed her face. She opened the door and saw her parents. She started crying again knowing how much scolded she will be. "What happened? why are you crying, Daizy?" asked her father surprised. "I am sorry." said Daizy sobbingly. They entered the house and froze. Daizy narrated the whole story and they sighed. "Did you realise why did she react like that?" asked her father. "No. Why, dad?" sobbed Daisy. "Because you were arrogant and wanted to take revenge. Arrogance is like climbing a broken staircase of which the highest step is of revenge and when you fall from it the pain will be the deepest, dear" voiced her mother in a calm manner. "Selfie made you realise that each individual has it's own beauty and those who disgrace it, make a fool of themselves" explained her father. " I won't be rude again. I won't be revengous again. I won't be arrogant again. I promise."
