Pretend

To Pretend is an art, and like all other arts, it requires talent to excel in it. They say and I quote, "Eyes are the window to one's soul." True, unlike all other parts of the body, eyes are the most sensitive and beautiful. So when one Pretends, they add a filter to those beautiful eyes. People who are true and do not pretend have the most beautiful eyes in the world.

To Pretend has become a fashion nowadays. Some Pretend to be happy, some to be content, some to be okay and so on. They Pretend to gain attention, some to lose attention. Oh! Attention another complicated word.

The first meaning of Pretend by a dictionary is to behave as to make it look like a case when it isn't. The other meaning says, Engaging in an act of fantasy or imaginative game. To Pretend isn't bad with regards to the second meaning, what is bad is to Pretend to be someone else with regards to the first meaning.

I personally have seen my friends Pretending a lot. When asked they justify by giving excuses like, I don't want to hurt him/her. Its too boring. Makes me look vulnerable. And personally, my favorite one is when people lie.

If I say the word Pretend is itself a lie, it may sound Funny. When you add the word Pretend before an emotion it becomes even more Funny and Truth.

It's very interesting to look into those eyes, those windows of the soul. I like catching people when they Pretend because it is during these moments you can actually see through the filter placed on those windows. I do not mention it to those people, but it is beautiful. Maybe I am the one who is pretending, maybe I am not.
