Paranormal!!!

As a child, I frequently visited my family members from Mexico and spent a lot of that time sleeping over at my cousin's houses and things of that sort so I was very close to them and therefore acclimated well when I moved there. I moved to Mexico for about a year and attended a Catholic school there. This was when I was in sixth grade and I was around 11-12 years old at the time. I am now 17 and entering my senior year in high school. This story may be a bit lengthy but it is kind of two stories in one.

Now if you've read my previous story, you'll know that I grew up Catholic and somewhat religious. You'll also know that I mentioned I've never really had any paranormal experiences, but the more I read the intriguing stories on this site, the more I start to remember very minor things that have happened in my past that make me a believer in the supernatural.

Anyway, attending Catholic school meant saying prayers every morning before classes and having school assemblies about God and Jesus and all that mumbo jumbo. (Don't mean to be offensive to any of you I just no longer believe in any sort of religion). I'm sorry I should actually be a lot more respectful of people's beliefs. Shame on me. So at this stage in my life, I was a strong believer in God and believed he watched over me and that I would have consequences if I ever sinned.

One night, I spent it at my cousin's house which was pretty big and fancy. The house gave me the creeps at night though. They used to have very strange occurrences at the house. When I was younger, they lived in a smaller different house that was located right next to another uncle of mine. As my uncle started making more money in his profession as a doctor, he bought quite a big piece of land and started constructing a gorgeous new two-story house.

While constructing the house though, my cousins would have strange things happen when they first moved in while the house was still in construction. There's my uncle, aunt, eldest girl cousin (Gabby), second eldest boy cousin (Nene), youngest boy cousin (Edgar), youngest girl cousin (Erica). Erica is just one day younger than me so we are very close. Gabby had the first experience where she heard someone tapping their nails on her nightstand while trying to sleep. She has her own room and was alone so it couldn't have been anyone else.

The next two encounters in the house happened to Nene which is rather scary and puzzling. One night while trying to sleep Nene was awoken by what sounded like an old woman talking in a very low voice. He turned to see what it was and found an old woman, sitting on a chair that he didn't own, in the corner. Creepy. He said that he almost immediately blacked out and woke up in the morning only to find the room empty and the chair was gone.

The next was again while he was trying to sleep. Now I have heard that demons often take the shape or form of something they are not to try and spook people so that might've been exactly what he saw. He laid there as he saw his younger sister, Erica, crying while being held by his mom (my aunt). The only thing strange thing about this is that Erica was a lot younger when he saw this. She was around one year in the apparition but this took place when Erica was much older and could speak clearly and was already attending school. This one spooked him a lot more than the old woman in his room. Does anyone know why this happened?

Erica is a sleepwalker and when I've slept over I've seen her little sleepwalking episodes and it always cracks me up. She usually comes into Edgar's room while he and I play video games all night and complains about weird things like peaches and slippers and how she's thirsty and stupid stuff like that. So one of her episodes wasn't as stupid and took place when they first moved into the house.

She dreamt that something urged her to go into the downstairs living room by the fireplace. In the dream, her name was being called into the room by an unknown voice as she asked what it wanted as she was very tired. She didn't get a response. This sounds a lot like astral projection but while projecting people usually leave their bodies in bed, not walk with them while dreaming. As soon as she got to the living room she woke up and felt like she was being watched. She went back upstairs to find everyone asleep so no one could have been actually been calling her into the living room.

The last thing I know of that happened to them upon arriving in their new home occurred in my aunt and uncle's bedroom. My uncle owns a lot of books on medical studies and well basically things a doctor would be interested in. One of the first things he moved into the house was a bookcase with all his books.

So one night he was on call at the hospital and was working late while my aunt spent the night alone in the room. She woke up to books falling off of the bookcase on their own and she said one actually flew across the room. This all happened while she heard what sounded like a priest praying loudly in their bathroom.

As soon as they were fully acclimated in the house and construction was done. Everything stopped. No noises. No books flying across rooms. No strange dreams. No apparitions. Nothing. Just a big, spacious, spooky looking house at night. Nothing occurred until a few years later...

Now, getting back to why I mentioned moving to Mexico and being at the most religious state I was ever in my life. I spent the night at their house and it was just like any other night. We would have dinner, I'd play video games with Edgar, we would watch movies with the whole family and just thing of that sort. Although I was a lot closer to Erica, I spent more time with Edgar since we were into similar things and being boys and all we got along well.

So on that night, we were drawing "cool things" like skulls and zombies and such. We ran out of paper and went into the playroom where all the toys we stored to try and find some more and we ended up just hanging out there. The playroom is on the 2nd floor and has a door that leads to an outside balcony and a small spiral staircase that takes you up onto the roof. The door to enter the playroom requires a key to get in and we needed permission from my aunt or uncle to get in. There is no other way to get into that room or the roof.

We were the first ones in the playroom that day and everyone else was somewhere else in the house and Edgar and I were the only ones in the room. We found the paper and started our drawings when Edgar dared me to draw the numbers 666 and an inverted star. I felt wrong doing this as it was I guess "forbidden" since we were Catholics. But deep down I wanted to do it because it was taboo and let's face it, we all want to do things that we feel are forbidden. Within reason of course.

Moments after I started the drawing we heard banging on the door that leads to the balcony. The door has two opaque windows on it but not opaque enough to block out light or any images on the other side. We saw a red hand slapping the window (Thus the title "Caught Red Handed") and we ran out. I mean we RAN the hell out of there. Since we knew we were the only ones in the room and no one could have possibly been on the balcony or have come from the roof we came to the conclusion that it was punishment for our supposed "sin".
