My surreal journey.

My surreal journey.

It was the last week of the month of June. The summer vacation was coming to its end. The educational institutions will soon commence the new session. The monsoon will arrive soon by the beginning of the next month. The earth will soon be decorated with green vegetation. The nights will become darker and dark clouds will scatter in the sky and the cloudless, bluish sky will soon sparkle with lightning. In such a changed scenario every young man likes to have his nights to be full of dreams and venture into a surreal world.

Swapnil Saxena is a student of the final year of the postgraduate degree in Humanity. As a student, he has been meritorious if not outstanding but as a human being, he is quite polite, modest and generous. But he has been a dreamer and often dwells in a surreal world. Often he dreams of things and creatures which only can be found in a conjurer's magical world. However, he feels the satisfaction in remaining in such a world. Rather he feels to be a part of such an imaginary world.

That night Swapnil was fast asleep on his bed in his hostel room. After a hectic schedule of events throughout the day, he felt really tired. He even bunked his night class of a professor who took classes as a guest faculty.

It was the end part of that night on the 27th of June and the entire world was sleeping in a deep slumber when Swapnil embarked on his surreal journey with a bicycle fitted with two wings which certainly belonged to a mythical bird. He kept flying until he reached the moon and landed on the silvery surface of the natural satellite of the earth. Like the emperor of his undisputed kingdom that spread up to the end of heaven, he wished to wander around and prove his supremacy and absolute domination over all earthly creatures and countless non- living things. He felt his feathers getting wet soaked with the magical drops of nectar that fell incessantly from the flowers of paradise. He wished his journey to the extraordinary world would go on and on.

But every good or bad thing comes to an end. And his journey to heaven with his magical bicycle came to an end when his cycle entered into a crater and he fell from his bike flat on his face. He suffered heavy blows to his forehead and nose which started bleeding.

Swapnil tried to get up from the floor where he was lying after falling from his bed. But his dreams were still in full swing and demanded him to wait and conserve energy and then embark on that unfinished journey to heaven. His injuries started to burn and the drops of blood dripped on to the floor. With all his force he managed to limp to the safety of a nearby chair and looked around. The bicycle with the magical wings was nowhere in sight. Only red and hot drops of blood stained his nightdress and a bump on his forehead was fast emerging on fast forward motion.
