My Journey As A Teacher An Awesome Experience

Teachers are often asked as to why they chose this profession which many consider as burdensome tiresome unrewarding both monetarily and socially. But my journey in this line began at a very early age even though technically it may not be considered so. I started teaching my younger brother friends for a fee of 5 Rupee' and this was way back in the seventies so to say.iwas a 12-year-old then. But the motivating factor turned out to be the marks my student's scored in their tests, they were happy indeed and so was I.As I grew up my inclination was always to be a teacher and so I was pursuing arts that included so-called soft subjects like English social science economics and child psychology. My first job was with a playschool.it was a very lovely experience that I cherish even today. I got married and moved to another place and in the nitty-gritty of the new life, I almost gave up my cherished dream of teaching.

But something very special happened in the year 2016, a chance interview that I attended just out of curiosity fetched me a job in a very reputed school of western India and this led to many many learning and teaching experiences in the ensuing years. I continued working and in the same year, the director of the school insisted that few of us should pursue a degree in education that would benefit both of us the school as well as we.i took the entrance exam for the same and secured 50th rank in the state and got admission in the university college of education and completed the course with flying colors, of course, the credit goes to my husband and children who had to make adjustments to help me complete the course. later I had to quit the earlier job and join a school that was much nearer to my house as this would save my travel time so that I could cater more time to my family. During this time I always made an effort to help students who had learning difficulties or any other to the best of my ability. As a teacher I always tried to imbibe values like saving water, helping the needy etc.i recall an event here. There is a thanksgiving month celebrated in September. I requested all students of my class to bring unused but useful things that were lying in their homes__ of course with their parents permission.we had a good collection of stationery, clothes etc.i got a bus arranged through the school, loaded all the things, and took the most mischievous students of the school to an orphanage and made them distribute those things personally to each of the inmates present. That was one of a kind experience to the students. The year 2012 we shifted to another place down south due to my husband transfer Here too something special happened. We had gone along our younger son who had got admission to one of the oldest and largest schools of that place During that process the principal who was casually talking got to know about my teaching experiences offered me a job in an instant. I had to teach social studies to class 10th. superb experience what a bunch of students they were.

During this time I realized post-graduation would better my teaching prospects.so I got enrolled in a course in English .it was a breezy learning experience that I completed with flying colors.so now I am here with a bountiful of teaching and learning experiences that have made me think about many aspects of life from a different perspective. Has made me soberer, grounded, and thankful.i continue to pursue many online courses in special education, psychology elderly care, etc. I even presented a paper at the national conference of education that may not be a very successful teacher moneywise.
