My Dream Journey In Titanic

My Dream Journey In Titanic

April 10, 1912, I and my family were going on a trip to New York on the world famous Titanic. It was the largest ship of that time. We waited an hour just to get on board the ship cause there were hundreds and thousands of people waiting to get on board it.

My name is Gordon and this is the story of How I survived the sinking of the Titanic. At that time I was only about 14 years old, when we got onboard our valet Jermey took us to our room. I was shocked to see the room, it was larger than our house.

My father said, ‘Surprise! I booked the first class. My mother was angry at my father because to my mom he just wasted money.

My father said ‘It's just 200 pounds, but mom said ‘200 POUNDS! THAT'S RIDICULOUS’. And so my mom and dad were fighting till 6 pm until the owner of the white star line invited us to the welcome party.

At the welcome party, there were many rich people. We looked poor right in front of them and many were laughing at us. After that nightmare, we went to sleep.

A few days passed and I started to enjoy all the luxuries in our first-class suite. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us. My father would need to work extra hours for the next 5 years to compensate for it. I really started appreciating my parents for all their hard work to make us happy.

It was April 14th evening, I was already asleep, at 12 am I heard a loud bang and the bed started rumbling. I went outside and saw panicking crew members running.

One of them said ‘It's gonna sink, head to Mr. Andrews Office’. I didn't know what they were talking about so I just went back to sleep and woke up to see our room was flooded. My mom and dad were nowhere to be seen.

I was all alone in that room. I quickly grabbed my life jacket and ran off. I was running to the elevator and saw that the stairs and elevators were closed so I pushed the guard and ran aimlessly all around the ship to find my parents.

An hour passed and things were getting worse. The stern was rising up and the bow was going under. I climbed with ease to the top. I went up to deck E and to my relief saw my parents safe on a lifeboat and hurrying me to join them, looked like they too were searching for me all around and were compelled by the crew members to get on a lifeboat.

As I was trying to reach my parents the lights went out and the ship broke into two pieces and a large wave broke my parent's lifeboat and I was separated from my parents and at the same time someone pushed me to save their own life because of the chaos, I fell down into the ice-cold waters of the Atlantic ocean all thinking about the beautiful life I could have had with my parents.

As soon as I touched the water it felt like 1000 knives stabbing my heart and then I fainted. I woke up in a rescue ship Carpathia and I arrived in New York safely without any injuries. I was searching around to see if my parents survived too and luckily found my parents around a corner sobbing quietly. As soon as I saw my parents and waved at them, they ran and hugged me.

We helped other people in grief and finally, we came back to Scotland and went home. That was a memorable trip that made me realize that I was always happy around my family and how important it is to help others in need.
