MISTER CAULIFLOWER EAR

 

Among the greens of Vegetable kingdom, lived a vegetable named Mister Cauliflower Ear. Mister Cauliflower Ear loved Lady Cabbage dearly with her frilly skirt, trimmed with a lacy green petticoat. Mister Cauliflower Ear would box any other vegetable who would dare speak to his lady love.

By now Mister Cauliflower Ear was getting far out of control. He was so green with envy that he punched poor Mister Love apple on his rosy red cheeks till juice trickled down his tomato cheeks and smashed poor Mister Potato mash Murphy. He scattered Mister Green Pea’s companions far and wide and pulled off the crown off purple Mister Aubergine’s head.

In order to put an end to his rash and brash ways, Lady Finger tried to figure out the problem and called a meeting of the vegetablets of Vegetable Kingdom. Only a few did attend, for they feared the wrath of Mister Cauliflower Ear. Among those who attended the meeting were, Lady Carrot, Mister Onion, Mister Dill, Lady Turnip, Mister Radish, Mister Green Chillie, Lady Red Pepperoni and Mister Drumstick. So also did come along Lady Cabbage with her best friend Lady Beet. None of them could come up with a solution. At last Lady Cabbage had no other option, so came up with the sad but only conclusion to leave her green eyed monster Mister Cauliflower Ear. Mister Drumstick was so happy that he played his drums aloud, Lady Turnip spinned round and round like a top and Mister Dill’s heart began to beat faster and faster.

Now when Mister Cauliflower Ear heard about his Lady love’s decision, he was so heart-broken that he split into tiny flowerets and could box no more vegetablets in Vegetable Kingdom. Then the tiny Mister Cauliflower Ear flowerets began to sing in a chorus this sad song,

“Give Ear Give Ear,

To our sad story,

We just cannot be in one piece,

Without our Cabbage Sweetheart!”

Lady Cabbage felt very sorry indeed for Mister Cauliflower Ear and joined all his flowerets again to make him a sweet, tolerant and trusting Mister Cauliflower Ear vegetable. Mister Drumstick was so happy that he played his drums aloud once again. Lady Turnip spinned round and round like a top and Mister Dill’s heart beat faster and faster. This time Lady Cabbage’s best friend, Lady Beet blushed a crimson red!
