Liar Liar!

While the entire world is fascinated by artificial intelligence and that includes me, unfortunately, my little daughter is very upset with Siri - the AI product by apple. 

Well, the story began when my daughter accidentally discovered one lady with a strange accent is offering help to her while she was playing with my iPhone. 

“Who are you “ – She said. 

“Hi, I am Siri.”

“baba – one aunty is inside the phone” – she came jumping from hall to bedroom. 

“Yes that’s Siri, she can be your friend. Ask her what you want to know, having little idea what she is going to ask “ 

“ So Siri – you must be a girl, right? – She said 

“ Not sure about that “ – Siri replied.    

“ Well, what’s your father’s name ? “ followed by a few more questions which siri was not able to answer. 

When I taught her “ you should ask a question other than personal question, like the latest movie, national flag, cooking recipe and many more” 

She asked – Siri is it going to rain today? 

This is the first question that an AI program can handle and then Siri replied – 

“There is no chance of raining in the next 10 days “. While my daughter was happy to see some chart showing no mark of rain and cloud, she thought Siri is correct then, it is hot indeed.

Unfortunately That very evening at 6 PM it did rain. My daughter was too happy dancing in the roof and enjoying the very first rain of the season. And all of a sudden she went back to the bedroom and pick up the phone.

“Siri – why did you lie ? “ – she said. 

     

Later that night she reported her grandmother “ dad has one aunty on his phone and she even doesn’t know what’s her father’s name or mother’s name is. Her name is Siri and she is a lair “
