Juhi, The Green Fighter

Juhi is a young girl live along with her parents in a small village along side the hills. She is very charming, happy and nature-loving girl. She works along with her parents in her free time to help them in farm and backyard gardens.

Once their village and surrounding area had less rain. After monsoon season, just around the summer everyone in the village and the nearby area started facing water shortage for day to day usage and farming. Her favorite garden was also drying due to a shortage of water. She was very sad and unhappy as her favorite green play area with flowers and fruits around becoming a dry and ugly yard.

She went to her parents to know why there is a shortage of water. Her parents told her that this year there was a very short monsoon. Also well on our farm and around the village have gone low on water. Green hills and surrounding have turned brown and black as trees were drying and grass turned dry. Birds and animals are also facing water shortage and moving to other areas. Everyone in the village had to bring water from the uphill lake. Curious Juhi asked her father how can I get water for our garden? Can I come along with you uphill to bring some water? I want to water our garden.! I want green trees, our garden with flowers back.

Her parents explained to her, it's difficult for young girl like you to walk up the hill and fetch water. We will try to get water for you, but Juhi was firm on her demand. Her father explained to her, will try something for you, give me some time. After 2 - 3 days Juhi asked her mother is there a way to get water into well at our farm? Can something be done to get water from uphill into well? She asked her father in the evening the same question. Her father got an idea, he discussed thoughts with neighbors and a few villagers.

From that day, her father along with neighbors and few villagers start early for uphill fetch some water and again go back to hills in the afternoon. Juhi was curious about what is going on, why there is no water? Where are these people going in the afternoon? She asked her father in the evening. He explained to her, with her thought to get water in well, all neighbors and villagers have worked on a plan to get water from uphill lake by a small canal and connect few wells. Juhi was very happy, she was eager to water for her garden.

After few weeks, when she came back from school, she saw her father pulling water from well. With joy and very happy face she went to her parents. She was delighted to see there was enough water in well at the farm. She asked her parents, will I be able to use some water for our backyard garden now? Her parents explain her importance of water and allowed her to use some amount of water for garden. Juhi was very happy, she can now water plants in the garden daily. Soon the garden got the greenery back. There were good flora and fauna across the village. Hill plants and greenery was also recovering slowly.

Her parents and neighbor clapped for the idea and thought from Juhi which helped everyone to get flora and fauna back at village and around the hill. Juhi is known for her idea and love for garden and greenery. Juhi is happy to get her greenery and garden back.
