Cricket? What Cricket?

Tendulkar hit the ball out of the stadium. It was a six, and with that, India won the match.

Kanitkar switched off the TV and sat back on the sofa. People always remembered the new. The old ones were always forgotten. Hrishikesh Kanitkar no longer played for India. 

He took the grocery bag and stepped out of the house. The streets were empty as people were watching the match. No one bothered him anymore. That was an advantage of not being famous anymore.

He stopped at the grocery shop and pulled out a list of items he wanted. The grocery boy tore his eyes off the TV and snatched his list from him and produced the items he had written.

After Kanitkar turned his back, the boy told his friend, "These old people know nothing about cricket, and they come to disturb us. I can't even watch a match in peace. Anyway, who won the man of the match?"
