Chutki was crying and her mother was washing vessels in the kitchen. Chutki was a 3 year old staying with her mother and father. Her father had been to other city for work and hence her mother was alone.

They were new to this city and knew nobody.

Chutki was crying and hearing this her mother came closing the tap and said, "Nahi beta don't cry", and gave her biscuits to eat and showed her the view outside and slowly chutki became quiet and was enjoying the crowd outside, peoples going home and vehicles.

Her mother heard the pressure cooker whistle"shhhhh", and she put Chutki down and ran to the kitchen, her mother was busy as she was alone. She got busy in the kitchen and was constantly keeping on Chutki as well, she saw Chutki playing and laughing, then she got busy in cooking.

Chutki was laughing and playing as she saw a nail paint bottle which her mother had left open unknowingly and Chutki loved to play with them but this time it wa open, Chutki smelled it and swallowed a little and didn't like the smell and threw the bottle aside and got back to playing, her mother was now busy in phone and so gave Chutki to drink water on her own, Chutki sipped water and the traces of nail paint completely disappeared from her mouth.

Her mother and she had their dinner, watched television and went to sleep, Chutki was constantly changing her position when asleep and her mother thought it was due to hot weather outside and then Chutki wokeup crying and kept on crying, Radha her mother didn't know what to do, and was tensed, it was night and she didn't know the state language and knew only hindi and english, she went to the hall in search of her phone and then found the bottle of nail paint empty and on the floor, she was scared and stepped out of the home, carrying her purse but she couldn't find any auto and didn't know about the location of hospital as they were new to the city, she then saw a man following them and she was more frightened and then the man called, "O madam", Radha stopped and turned back and saw that the person was in khaki colour and then she put light on him and found he was a police, the police asked her about the reason to be out at night and she explained and asked her to come along and rushed them to a hospital and waited outside and gave his number if they needed any help.

Radha went in and the doctor asked her to get the medicines immediately as the nail paint was a dangerous chemical, Radha went to the dispensary and asked for the tablets and the amount was Rs. 5600/- but Radha had just Rs. 1000/- and couldn't go home as well, she didn't know what to do and she pleaded the medicine vendor but all in vain, the doctor was about to leave and Radha crying and pleading the medicine vendor, he went near her and asked her the reason and said she was out of cash and then the doctor without a second thought paid the bill and gave Chutki the medicine and Chutki was asleep and the doctor said after a vomit for 2-3 times he would be alright and if any problem she could call him up at anytime.

Radha was in tears and saw the police waiting outside though it was already 3hours then and she was safely dropped home by the police and asked to call him up if she needed anything.

Radha was in tears and saw the khakis and whites as god from then. She always told Chutki that she was given a second life by the Police and Doctor that night and they were her life saviours.

Moral: Police and Doctors are to be respected and they do a selfless service not for them but for us.
