Childhood- The Best Period of One's Life

Childhood is indeed the best period of one’s life. It is that time of your life when there is no pressure on you; peer or study, and you live a carefree life. Since no obstacles are thrown at us, we feel we have come in this world to have a gala time. We do some foolish and insane things because our brain has not quite developed yet. I feel like my childhood ended at the age of thirteen. Till the age of twelve, even though I was aware of the hurdles that were going to come in my way, I did not give a care. Writing about childhood has opened up a cascade of memories in my mind and I am going to tell you about some.

There are moments of happiness, grief and pride. I have had a lot of moments where I was extremely buoyant. One time, when my family and I resided in Mumbai, we visited the Oberoi Mall. When we reached there, we found out that a carnival was taking place. Three princesses had come straight from Disneyland to meet us. Among them were Cinderella, Ariel and Rapunzel. Cinderella was my most favourite princess at the time. The deal was to wear the same costume as your favourite princess, take a special photo with her and the two other princesses and at last take a certificate and costume home. Though I did not wear the costume again, it reminded me of that special moment.

There are also moments when we do crazy things and later regret it. Something of this sort happened to me when I tried to make chapattis. I thought that we first have to check the temperature of the pan and I did so. Little did I know that I would get second - degree burns and have to put dough on my hand in order for it to heal?

Then there are memories of when you have made your parents proud like the time I met Kiran Bedi virtually. I had to go through a lot of qualifications and at last was selected. I was among the six children from thousand others who got selected for yet another Book Reading Session with the IPS officer. It was live on YouTube and that is one instance when I made my parents proud.
