Caquim

Caquim must have been around 14 years old when he woke up early to do physical education at his school. It was still cold, even, because it was wintertime. At that age, his testosterone and that of his friends were a thousand each wanting to prove his virility in some way, while the physical education teacher did not show up, each counting advantages to stand out.

Soon there was an uproar and chatter and all kinds of kids among the kids, some a little older, an average of 12 to 16 years old. It all happened after some intrigue with the intentional aim of provoking a fight; some of the smarter ones realized that Caquim was feeling very confident, took the opportunity to inflate his ego, asking if he had the courage to face Trubau and the answer was positive. At the same time, others went to talk to Trubau and told him that Caquim had the courage to face him. In this, an atmosphere of animosity was created, to the point of Caquim, even though he was younger by about 4 years than his opponent, he decided to “exchange punches” with him, to the delight of the kids. After a few moments of mutual advances, Caquim managed to deviate as much as he could, Trubau, from the height of his size and corpulence, hit Caquim's eye, which was bewildered, did not really know what to do after this setback, whether he continued or gave up. He was so lost that he went looking for the sandal that came off his feet, which became the excuse to sneak out and give up that insane confusion. The next day his eye dawned purplishly and the conversations that came out implied that he was reckless and so he lost out in history, in view of the difference in size between the contenders. Zé Maluquim, Caquim's colleague, certainly thinking he could face him, challenged his friend on the way to school, but he realized that Caquim was not that soft and gave up on the endeavour.
