Benny and the Brave Little Web
Benny and the Brave Little Web
My name is Benny, and I am eight years old. One day, while walking through the forest, I saw the biggest spider web I had ever seen. I wanted to look closer, but suddenly—WHOOSH! I slipped and got stuck right in the middle of the sticky web.
Before I could shout for help, giant fuzzy spiders crawled toward me. They had huge eyes, long legs, and sharp little teeth. Some smiled, some looked grumpy, and one even stuck out its tongue at me! I was so scared that my knees started shaking.
"Please don't eat me!" I cried.
The biggest spider laughed. "Eat you? We don't want to eat you. We only want to know why you walked into our home."
I felt silly and said, "I was curious. I didn't mean to break your web."
The spiders looked at each other. Then the oldest spider smiled kindly. "Being curious is good, but you must always respect someone else's home."
"I promise I'll be more careful," I said.
The spiders worked together to cut the sticky threads. They gently helped me climb down from the web. Before I left, I noticed that they were busy repairing the broken parts of their beautiful web.
"I want to help," I said.
Using little sticks and leaves, I carefully cleared away the broken branches around the web so they could fix it more easily. The spiders thanked me with happy little dances.
As I walked home, I wasn't afraid of spiders anymore. I had learned that things that look scary are not always dangerous. Sometimes, the best way to make a new friend is with kindness, honesty, and respect.
From that day on, whenever I saw a spider web sparkling in the morning sunshine, I smiled and whispered, "Hello, my brave little spider friends!"
