The Caliph of Baghdad liked his Minister Abu Amir a lot. They shared a friendly relationship and that's why other courtiers were jealous of Abu.

One day, Abu sent some gifts to him along with a very beautiful slave girl. The Caliph was very pleased with the presents and the slave girl and started giving Abu Amir much importance than before. But it so opened that one of

Abu Amir's enemies poisoned the ears of the Caliph stating that Abu was not happy to give away the slave girl and that he repented it. The Caliph wanted to test Abu Amir and sent a letter as if written by the girl to come and take her back. But Abu understood the trick and replied that he did not want to take her back. The Caliph was much pleased.
