An Interesting Day With Grandpa!! From The Diary Of Garima Chhajed

Grandparents show so much interest when we spend time with them. I have had some sweet memories that I would want to share with you. These include, me listening to their short stories in the afternoon or running about some errands around the huge, new house. This is the time when I first visited my grandparents’ residence around the age of eight.

Grandfather, whom I fondly called Grandpa, has a fifteen-acre garden on the outskirts of the village. There was a beautiful, small rivulet flowing through the garden. He had also built a guest house and lodgings for the workers to stay in. I just admire the farm. There was plenty of water, fresh air and green trees. The next morning, Grandpa took me to his farm to show me some of the amazing plant species that would not be seen in Mumbai. I agreed to him, smiling to myself. His pleasurable morning walks can be hardly known as morning walks! He was so loquacious that he took an hour leisurely walking and talking to everyone he met on the way, which was not longer than a twenty-minute walk.

At last, we came back with tractors of tender coconuts, ripe bananas, washed limes and fresh lemons to fill up the vast storeroom larder. Everyone was waiting for us at home, especially my grandma to serve us the wonderful lunch. Tired and all sweaty, I took a quick shower to freshen up myself. It was one of my best experiences with my grandparents and my family.
