A Wonderful Land!
A Wonderful Land!
"Hey, what's that in your hands with you ?", I asked an all-glee Aashka who seemed to be engrossed in the world of fiction.
"A book?!", she retorted, as if her chain of reading got broken.
Her ecstasy was so vibrant and contagious that something in me also wanted to indulge in the same. "Would you mind if I could borrow your book for a while ?", I seemed to have questioned her loyalty.
That little wonder of a book she held had finally arrived into my hands one fine day when Aashka was kind enough to lend me her book.
Books have always held my attention and it was today as if the "reading bug" had hit me.
I grabbed on to my life's first 'official' read, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I had been hearing about liners being picked up from the book and used very often [so much that one of the film dialogues is based on this]. It was a small book but carried immense clips of livelihood. I picked it up as soon I reached home after my classes were over.
I was introduced to this magical world of words, emotions, and characters that get framed in our minds. There was vivid imagery of how the story unfolded. Each page and chapter had something unique to offer and hence, had my all my attention diverted. It took me hardly any time to finish the book, as I swept through the pages admiring the writing style and the liners that I still recall, after all these years. This book made me realize how things unfold in life. The book isn't just about a story. It's about life and how should we look at life in the light of positivity and hope, for dreams do come true eventually.
And since then, my love for books and reading had only bounds infinite. It has only grown so much that I cannot even imagine a life without books. I had already spent enough of my lifetime without them. Not anymore!
