Dear Diary,

It's been more than 20 days of the lockdown and more than we started experiencing the effects of Corona so closely. We would have never imagined a situation ever like this and truly wish for no other ever in future. As I reflect back, I feel time is still slipping away even though we now have more time at hand to expend.

Only if the discussions about Corona would subside, the other heavily talked about topic is how busy are we trying to keep ourselves up and how are we utilizing these extra hours at hand. I find some of the other sources with a lot many suggestions for us to dispense. We ought to be so thankful for this digital era that has brought the world so lose, although with its own otherwise implications. Did we ever think that the digital revolution could aide things when the world is stricken with a pandemic ?

Anyway, back to the topic. I have been reflecting a lot and finding ways to make this temporary period fruitful. Listing below the things I have resorted to.

  • For a person who hardly ever makes a call to anyone, dialing a friend's number has become my daily task. I was given a yet-another WhatsApp challenge which I obliged to [although foolishly]. However, this exercise [which I rarely do] got me a great realization. I was supposed to nominate ten more female friends for it. I found it astonishing that I actually had so many amazing people around, not just limited to the females in my group. Thought ten is too big a number for me, but no, it was too small. That moment of reality was enough for me to feel so grateful and blessed to know such wonderful people. Phone calls are the best in these times to feel the closest to people even if not around!
  • Meditate – I have now resorted to dedicate more time to meditation, an activity to build way of life.
  • When the Internet world was overflooding with content, brands like Coursera, Pluralsight and the like started offering free courses for a month or so. What a good time to hone our skills which only makes the time appear too less!
  • Resorting to painting and similar art. No other best time to do this. Creating a work of art is one of the most soul-satisfying things in life.
  • Getting more involved in household work, manage and learn things which might be helpful in the future.
  • Not the least for sure, reading will definitely get more edge than anything else. How many books we can read at this time? A lot more than we originally imagined. I have been loving discussing the books being read with my friends.
  • Trying different kinds of Kolams almost every other day. I cannot exactly express how much fun this is.
  • Last but not the least, making health a priority and being grateful for being blessed with our families and extended families.

This is the time to let go of all the grudges, be a better version of ourselves, make this world a little better with our efforts and be well prepared for an even unimaginable future!
