What Is A Day On Earth?
What Is A Day On Earth?
The grey light of dusk creeps slowly in,
And the cold climbs up my legs,
What is a day on Earth?
Is it a measure of what I've accomplished
Or a meaningless repetition that becomes an illusory anchor to my life?
What is a day on Earth?
A day well spent or wasted,
At the end of which I've earned my rest or regrets.
A way to split my life into small compartments of planned activities.
The enormous melancholy of the days I've lived,
That I carry within me like small video clips,
Plays at a dreary dusk like this,
Catching me by surprise.
What is a day on Earth but the continuous stream of Life itself,
Slowly, softly, irreversibly flowing.
