What Are We

After watching political rallies,

After watching political campaigns,

And hearing the thundering speeches,

Of our political leaders and lawmakers,

I am inclined to think metaphorically that,

We are all small scattered islands,

Shouting abuses at each other,

Shouting accusations against each other,

Across seas of misunderstanding,

Across oceans of misplaced notions,

That can only lead us to the brink of disaster!
