The Rains
The Rains
Is there a prettier sight,
Than splashes of silver and white,
Against the green grass on the ground?
Any lovelier sound,
Than the pitter patter of raindrops,
Over scorching earth and her crops?
Tiny tots, their excitement and giggles
Of little boots, jumping into puddles
The rivers overflowing with abundance
Waterfalls and their cascading dance
A shared umbrella sheltering loving hearts
Or invoking memories when love departs
Rains are a sign from the sky
It tells us all, it's ok to cry
Tears are meant to wash away the pain
To clean the dust, wipe away the stain
Like the burning earth welcomes the relief
Open your hearts to the hurt and grief
That's nature's law, renewal and rebirth
Lose yourself, find your worth
Look to nature in all her glory
Her beauty, her music tells her story…
