The Genie in the Lamp

One day, I saw a lamp, 

Which was a bit damp.  

 

So, I decided to clean it a bit, 

And I rubbed the lamp as its mouth lit! 

 

And what I saw next! Was a genie in front of me, 

I rubbed my eyes, “I can’t believe what I see!”  

 

The genie asked, “Tell me your three wishes!” 

So, I first told him to wash my dishes! 

 

The genie went to the kitchen and snapped his finger, 

It formed a cloud around my dishes and it got bigger and bigger! 

 

Next, the dishes so clean, I couldn’t believe they were ours, 

As he cleaned them so properly, they twinkled like stars! 

 

Next, I told genie, “Build me a big, beautiful house”, 

It should have a huge garden, with a pet mouse! 

 

Genie snapped his fingers again, and a wind blew hard, 

Then what I saw was a pretty house, with a stupendous yard! 

 

I thanked genie a lot, then he asked for my last wish, 

I thought and thought of a thing, that would bring a lot of bliss. 

 

Then I thought of an idea, but it was too funny, 

I asked the genie, if he could make me a bunny! 

 

The genie nodded his head, as he snapped his fingers again, 

But instead of being a rabbit, I ended up being a hen! 

 

I called out for the genie, but he vanished- I don’t know how, 

But he made me a ridiculous hen, what do I do now?
