The Flight
The Flight
It happened one day, it was my first flight
Spreading my wings I felt so light
Peeping down from the nest
I decided to give it my best
Perching on the edge, feet rooted firmly
A gentle nudge from my mommy
Suddenly I found myself flying
Feeling so light and funny in my tummy
With everything appearing so very tiny
Soon my wings felt tired and my head dizzy
I came down to the ground in a bit fuzzy
And then I realized I couldn't fly back
My wings felt so weak, I just lost my track
My mommy swooped down to console me
Brought a little worm for so hungry me
Mommy and dadda kept a watch
On predators looking for an easy catch
But then it began to heavily rain
I had to run for shelter to a broken toy train
Day turned into the dark scary night
I longed for the warmth of mom's hug tight
Cats and giant rats were close by
Ready to eat me in an easy try
Hiding in the little toy train
Hungry sobbing and feeling the pain
I decided to try to fly in the morning again
I woke up with the first rays of the sun
Mommy fed me with a big fat worm
I pushed myself with all my might
Spreading my wings for my best flight
Up and away I could fly so high
Above the tall trees in the sky
For one last time, I came back home
Only to hug my dadda and kiss my mom
Before I was far and gone...
