The Biryani Of My Life

If I had to describe my life

It has been nothing less a potful of Biryani

Where I'm the long fragrant basmati rice

And my relationships & experiences are the spices and masalas 

The aromas of which engulf me even today

My parents, they've been the salt

The ones we cannot neglect. 

My siblings, they've been the curd

A little sweet and sour, but bringing that balance

My friends, they've been the dry fruits 

Adding that special flavor to my life

My affairs and crushes, the khada masalas 

Spicing up my life every once in a while

My colleagues, like the veggies, helping me develop & grow in taste

My teachers & gurus, like the water Needed to help me stay afloat

My poems, like the tadka, keeping all the flavors together 

And my words, like the coriander Garnishing the biryani of my life To be remembered forever.
