Spring
Spring
In the sham dull crevices
Of this abysmal monochrome
Let the rainbow seep
And stain its nooks and crannies
With new life and vibrance.
Rebirth is here.
Let the summery winds
Make sweet love to the wintry breeze
And let spring be born of the love
Keep away the dreary desolation of winter
And heed the hot sweat of summer at bay.
New life fills the old bodies
As the emaciated maples renew their vigour
And the apples and honeysuckles fruit
As leaves fill the bald boughs.
Bountiful bosom of earth be praised.
The forest be bejeweled in red hibiscus
And flaming gulmohar
In flowers known and unknown
In colours seen and unseen
A kaleidoscope of shades.
Sweet melody of cuckoo fill the air
Seducing spring into existence as
Life emerges again from dead ashes
And sleeping beauties wake into the new dawn.
The cycle of nature be praised.
