Smile

The expression of happiness, the gift of joy,

A simple smile can make everything worthwhile.

From Roman kings to armored knights,

No one ever refused to rejoice

In the eternal bliss of an ephemeral smile.

For that alone is the moment of truth,

When expressions flow off the hook.

It's rare though, today to find,

Much like a balloon let loose in the sky,

A pure and innocent child-like smile.

And thus I yearn thee to strive
