SHE

SHE is an Indian woman. 

She is a girl who loves to drape the saree on her body, 

And wear bangles on her hands. 

She wears a pair of jhumkas that keep tinkling whenever she moves, 

She keeps her black, long hair layed on her back, 

And she wears a pair of payal on her legs, 

That makes soud like – "CHHAN!CHHAN!", whenever she walks. 

She is a strain of melancholia, 

Dressing herself up in the authentic and ancient Indian way. 

She plucks a frangipani flower from the frangipani trees nearby, 

And she puts it by the side of her right ear, on her hair;

She then starts murmuring a song in the most sweetest tone–

"आज कल तेरे मेरे प्यार के चर्चे हर ज़बान पर, 

सबको मालूम है या सबको खबर हो गई".

And she continues to dress-up. 

She puts something on her body

That has the power to attract anyone. 

The beautiful smell of sandal erupts from her body, 

As if she is the sandal herself. 

She then wears the red alta on her smooth feet, 

Puts a red bindi on her forehead, 

And puts on her most precious thing–

Her sindoor. 

She puts on her red sindoor on her head, 

And finally she completes her dress-up and make-up,

By giving a little touch of kajal on her eyes. 

She now looks a perfect Indian woman, 

Spreading her aura everywhere she goes, 

Mesmerizing every body with her beauty. 

SHE is an Indian woman.
