Somebody tried to kill me,

When I was 5 years old,

I was worshipped during festivals,

People started instructing me with “do’s and don’ts”

When I was 15,

People started turning their lustful eye on me,

By 20 I was married,

Without even asking me about my wishes

Because

The only thing that bothered them was I might get raped,

Let me breath, let me see,

Let me think, let me do,

Teach me how to protect me,

So that tomorrow no one would dare to touch me.
