Precious Jewels

I spent the whole day cleaning,

Trying to find some meaning..

Found trinkets from yesteryears,

Some old silver pieces and odd-shaped spheres!

Found my mom's old pendant

For which I always had a penchant 

Opening those boxes took me years back,

Oh what's the time? I lost track!

Just peeking into them was like looking at the buried treasure,

Just touching those things brought so much pleasure!

Now those things are even more precious, 

I'll hold on to them being tenacious 

Not for their value but for the memories they stir 

If not for real, but I'll keep them in my heart forever !!
