Ode to my Teacher
Ode to my Teacher

I am today a man, a man who sees, differentiates bad and good.
Understands life and death
To you, I owe it all.
I know not of the world's riches
Greater than all of it, you gave.
A child I was once
Gave pen as a staff to hold'
Conquer the world with it', you said
Now I understand it better.
I look yonder
Mates have done well, some not.
Words you pronounced
Echoes in my mind, today.
Who knew men and women of
Courage, vigour and wisdom inspired
In that small four cornered room.
”You'll someday grow old”, you said
I rather not and be a kid in school, I wished.
You gave crayons
”Color the world as you go by”, you said
Different shades of them,
Each of them beautiful.
You taught me to color
I was in good hands, I'm blessed!
Dear teacher look at me,
The man I have become.
If you ever think you failed
You are my winner.
You made me into a man.
Many seasons have come and go
My prayers for you wherever you go
Angels guide and with you, they go.
