New Year

Unlike others, I start this new year

With less expectations

And zero resolutions.

I choose to embrace surprise.

I choose to welcome

Life's fall and rise.

I am ready to catch

Life's curved balls.

I am ready to be flexible

And not be a straight rod.

I won't tag this new year

As a new beginning.

It is just a continuation

Of my last year's rising.

I am not seeking perfection.

I just want contentment.

I am not seeking for approval

Because I am ready for resentment.
