NATKAT NANDLAL
NATKAT NANDLAL

Krishna: The Birth
Against the bars of depression
Lied Devaki and Vasudevan
One day the foretold sorrows ended
When the sign of divinity descended
The arrogant Kamsa and his comrades
Were all put to rest
Vasudevan changed his child’s fate
And Lord Vishnu did the best
Amidst the waves of the mighty ocean
Vasudevan and his companion
Vowed to cross the raging sea
Despite the odds, he would see
Krishna: Makhan Chor
The child was replaced in the village of Vrindhavan
This rested under the mount Govardhan,
The child knew nothing of his fate
Vasudevan had to do before it was too late
The strongest he was of everyone; big and small
But the naughtiest of them all
He spent his time teasing the gopis
Who instead loved him of all the deities
Krishna: In Vrindhavan
Once spoke the Natak Gopal
Why pray lord Indra and not the Govardhan?
Food and shelter it does give
But will Lord Indra ever forgive?
For the people prayed the Mount in a festive sight
For to be worshipped was Govardhan’s right
Fruits, sweets and wealth did the people shower
Denying Indra’s incredible power
The superior and ferocious Indra showered heavy rains
Thinking the devotion of people he would gain
Which the devas tried to control but in vain
And the people got the sufferings of pain
Then the little cowherd cried out loud
“Your powers are temporary, so never be proud”
His little finger lifted the Govardhan
Which sheltered an
d nurtured each one
The proud Indra astounded in this sight
At Lord Govinda’s miraculous might
Little he was, but had the powers unknown
Indra’s pride was now blown
The supremacy sheltered one and all
The mount invited all; big and small
Krishna’s Lela was bound to stop Indra’s pleasure
Who was finally defeated by Lord Hari’s pressure
“Jai Krishna Ki!” they all chanted
To the little lord for the cover he granted
Apologies to the supreme; Indra did give
And Lord Govinda did forgive
Krishna: The Victorious
After the fierce oppositions from Kansa
The demise of the evil was in full extravaganza
For death numbered his days and followed his track
Soon his power and might he did lack
Outside the ring of legendary
Stood Nanda, Yashodha, Vasudevan, and Devaki
Who expected the finale of Kansa’s tyranny
And notes in the air sung his blues and symphony
Krishna drew his sword and outworn his robes
Kansa’s life turned him to the wrong roads
For it was now very late
To change back his poor fate
Smack! Ka-Zap! The swords yielded
Kansa had become unshielded
For Krishna sliced his armed body
This amazed everybody.
Krishna’s power of justice slew the evil
And shattered the mightiest of the devils
People rejoiced this miraculous victory
Their battle was now legendary
Here's a special life morality
Goodness and honesty is the measure of mortality
Lord Krishna slew the evil as a mark of victory
Justice always creates true history
