My Shadow
My Shadow
Sometimes I follow my shadow,
Other times it follows me solo.
Sometimes it’s on my left,
Otherwise stays on my right.
Once in a while, I lose it
Or it hides under my feet.
Sometimes it tries to be long,
Otherwise it’s short or gone.
Shadow is reflection without mirror,
It’s only the outline, with no interior.
It’s dark or black, not any color.
Or is it my secret’s cover?
It hides my heart forever,
It has no mind whatsoever.
Shadow figures are mysterious
And we are definitely curious.
Sometimes I am scared of my own shadow,
Because it shows up without notice,
Disappears or goes out of focus.
As my shadow is mine,
I can’t disown it anytime.
