MUM & DAD

Mum & Dad spared their blood and flesh, worked day and night, 

Gave us all comforts in early life to look after our body and soul 

Took all initial steps to care for our health and education at all stages 

Both made enough sacrifices to bring you up as mature adults!

When my sister and I lost them in one year, we were devastated,

We were desperate for love, support, guidance and a lot missed.

It took a long time to come to terms with our loss and get over it!

My sister got married and her family moved abroad to live! 

Got my job, married and blessed with a girl and a boy to settle,

I see my parents in their eyes, sharing profuse love and affection.

We often play with them, observe their gestures, dance and smile.

The daughter is lovely like her grandma; the son is handsome like his grandpa!

People come and go, meet and leave you, time keeps changing.

How often do you think of your parents who gave you what we miss now?

Life repeats in cycles, sorrow and happiness in everybody’s life 

Time and tide wait for none, go along with time! Life is a gift!
