Locked-down poem

The greater the shut down

greater the desire to escape

into an azure sky, out there,

beckoning as a lost friend

and to

blend with the wind

and the rain of July

over Mumbai.

The locked-in

heart aches 

intensely

and, daily,

wants to rebel

against the pricey prison

sans any locks or guards

and

break out.
