Humans, oh humans, such complex beings

With dreams and desires, fears and feelings

We strive and struggle, we love and hate

We laugh and cry, we create and innovate

We walk upright and use our hands

To build and destroy, to heal and harm

We communicate with words and art

Expressing the depths of our mind and heart

We form societies and build communities

Working together for shared opportunities

But also divide ourselves with hate and fear

Creating conflict and shedding many tears

We seek knowledge and understanding

Exploring the mysteries of life and being

But sometimes we falter and lose our way

Failing to see the beauty of each day

Humans, oh humans, such a paradox

Full of promise and potential, yet also rocks
