Humanity
Humanity
Where are you humanity?
For I don't see you,
I search for you,
Look out for you,
But do not find you.
Instead,
I see your evil twin,
Prancing all around,
Dancing her evil dance,
I walk by indifferent,
Somewhere a man lies bleeding on the road.
Where are you humanity,
Where are you now?
I'm being human,
Just like you.
In the name of religion,
I murder scores,
I kill the unborn in her mother's womb,
Creating an imbalance of sorts.
I laugh out loud,
I'm on a rampage,
Crashing trains, blood and gore,
Hunger and thirst,
Childhood destroyed, monsters created;
I scream out loud,
I'm frightened now,
I hide in a corner.
Where are you humanity?
Where are you now?
Don't know from where
A frail, old, hand;
Reaches out to me,
Holding my trembling hands.
I see you now, humanity;
I see you now.
In the lines of my mother's face,
You still live.
