How Was My Day?
How Was My Day?

I was neither too happy
Nor very sad
The day commenced...
Had its quaint say and concluded
Did not leave much of an impact
The sky remained overcast
Did not bother to listen to the wailing of parched earth
Plucked my mood from happiness berth
At home ...
Pandemic remained the cardinal topic of discussion
As no worthwhile subject hugged imagination
Spirited impulses somehow refused
To rope in pledge
And look for hope...in the crevices of untouched pockets
One small change to the routine
Was brought by my distant cousin
His unannounced visit was a delight
Smeared happiness
Elicited plethora of joy and treat
As we sat together for a modest luncheon
Recounting days of gay abandon
We felt and realised
Nothing can compensate our pristine prime days.
