Holi Celebrations and Beliefs
Holi Celebrations and Beliefs
Can you guess the festival of colours?
The festival that makes us feel elated,
The one for which we all eagerly awaited
The one for which, we all gather,
And would not want to miss it rather ,
The day you have water balloons splashed on your face,
And want to do the same to match the pace
Yes, Holi is that festival
That marks the end of all the evil.
The day that all people are coloured in white,
Waiting for the speck of colours to turn their attire more bright
Everything seems to turn out right,
When you have your family to celebrate with you, on site.
Holi is a festival with a story behind,
With a lesson that is indispensable to remind,
And is a boon to learn for all mankind.
With a message to suspend all evil practices ,
Malpractices that will only result in your own downfall,
And will let you down everywhere and overall.
Just like Holika's wickedness got her, into the flames of fire enslaved,
While bhakt Prahlad was innocent, and hence was saved.
Such is this gala of colours, music, gatherings and celebrations, called holi,
Combined with deeper facts to teach us surely.
