Her Eyes

 

She had the most beautiful smile,

You would have ever seen,

But what I remember the best,

Are her eyes.

 

They were the weight of the world,

And the rush of a forgotten ocean,

Broken promises softly hidden

In rosy palms.

 

They were cold fire on granite stones,

The whispers of a thousand throats,

Dying away soundless deaths,

In her voids.

 

They were icebergs in solemn seas,

The summers on her lips freezing,

Into olive glaciers before they reached,

Her silent cheeks.

 

They were astronomy and starlight,

The lightyears of fallen clouds,

Curtains of warnings to those seek
