You smile at me

With virgin eyes,

As if all those years

Were never spent.

Your humour seduces

My heartbeats again,

Even as they flew

Away from sunshine.

You cleaned up well,

Your alabaster face

Mocks the cheer

I crayoned onto mine.

Your lazy elbows,

Innocent yawns,

Steal me and I return,

Shattered into sand.

Let me be darkness.

I was looking for my friend,

And found a stranger.

I cannot lie half as well.
