O democracy! What are you doing here?

I had warned you to stay indoors!

I can’t be listening to your endless rants,

You can’t be blocking my chores.

I saw you guys for past seven decades,

And never could I murmur then,

For you where in power, and I would cower,

I ran your errands, I carried out your order then.

I got you votes. You got me taxes!

Oh! Was this an equal relationship?

Scams and crimes, hunger and strife,

They still abuse, choke and make us slip.

I wanted schools, I wanted jobs,

I wanted infra, and healthcare.

Got schools, no teachers.

Got jobs, no future.

Leave the rest. Those are too hard to dare.

You will act kiddish, to retain lineage,

You will give us big dreams, which don’t come of age.

You will act too smart, and we fools think “success”.

You will appear wise and we assume it’s progress.

So now I shun you, and beware if you

Don’t listen to me, or our voice.

For “We the people”, will throw you up high,

And seek dictatorship by choice.

And must you scoff me, it’s at your own risk.

Its a jungle out there, it’s not so mild.

Am not the only one deafened,

By this cacaphony, going wild.

So look at me, and hear me.
