Friend

With a thousand thoughts racing through my mind,

I sit here thinking of the days left behind. 

Days I spent with friends like these,

Every memory comes back like the most soothing breeze. 

They gave me a home, and all their love,

Blessings, all of them from the gods above. 

With them I laughed, with them I did cry,

I was no bird, but they taught me how to fly. 

I hope this bond will never shatter,

For they are the ones, to me, who matter. 

A friendship like that is all one could crave,

Where the ravages of time, together we brave. 

For them, everything I'm ready to end, 

For they are family, something more than just a friend.
