Fie, I Say!
Fie, I Say!

Fie, I say! What a disgrace!
Must we defile the soil
Where our ancestors had lived?
Though their spirits have fled,
Their bones make up this land;
Tis where the Earth blesses us
From grass blades
To redwoods that dominate the land;
How foolish are we to bring doom
Upon the very soil that promises
Foundation to our houses?
It gives the birds in the sky a place to lie
And the hanging moist laden clouds
A reason to rain.
