Far Away
Far Away

Away from the city's chaotic cacophony
Away from the hustle bustle
Breaking the monotony
Alone I fled to a rustic castle
Treasured in the southern forests
Crowned by the clouds
Sun - dipped, in the blondest
Echoing the passerine's warble aloud
Guarded by the mountains
Blinded by the mist
Kissed by the water fountain
A sight that one cannot desist
The peasants worked all day long
Looking after the earth just like their laddie
Tired yet tilling, they were hardworking and strong
And finally, their effort bore them coffee
In the land of spices
It was the sight of Idukki
One among nature's greatest masterpieces
A window view that transfixed me
A journey that taught me simplicity
Through the rustic village life
The values and joy that were lost in the city
Were regained with a new vibe
A small world with earnest, integrity, and glee
Yet huge enough to inspire me and thee.
