Fading Light

The world is dark, my heart is heavy  

A weight upon my soul that will not levy  

The pain is real, and the tears fall  

A never-ending cycle, I can't recall  

The days are long, the nights are longer  

My mind was a prison, my thoughts much stronger  

The memories haunt me, and the scars bleed  

A broken heart, a shattered seed  

The world goes on, but I stand still  

A prisoner of my own free will  

The hope is gone, and the light has faded  

A life in ruins, forever jaded  

The world is cruel, and my heart is in pain  

A life of sorrow, with nothing to gain  

The end is near, the darkness calls  

A final goodbye, as the curtain falls.
