She picked it up,
And so did he,
So did the non-binary.
It was all heavy,
Painted,
Different colours , faded.
Democracy leaves me jaded,
However I still try lifting it,
Along with the rest of them.
We sweat, bleed and cry,
Lifting that painted finger,
Up in the sky,
Not even a bird can deny,
How high democracy flies,
So that our hopes don't die.
