Cricket Fever

Cricket Fever

The shiny pitch,

The lights above oh! So tall

Seems to have the same cry,

Come one, come all!!

The men out there

With ball and bat and various colors,

Are ready to hit the stumps,

Taking last advice off their skippers

You take the boundaries, hit the six

The audience at high pitch really does shout

As if that wasn’t enough

To satisfy your hunger,

So breaking off the stumps

Creates havoc in the crowd

LBW, catch out, stump out,

Oh get whatever are the rules

Just don’t let them stay on the crease

As only one team will rule!

We need a six,

Nothing wrong with four,

We will shout to support you

And you let the lion roar!!

The men out there really pants,

And sweat drizzles like anything

But their mighty hearts have a wish

Either victory or nothing!!

Nothing to lose, nothing to gain,

That’s our ideology, it’s just a game

But those courageous soldiers out there

Knows that amidst the crowd,

There stays only one immortal name!

No matter what the age

As an audience we don’t care

But only deserving country wins

It’s a game that fair!

Nobody is ready to give the trophy

Rather all is set to just snatch!

LBW, better still stump out,

Oh here comes the awaited catch!!

None of the games

Has brought in so much affinity,

And never had any

Brought in tremendous unity!

“It’s the best game ever!!”

Comes out the common call,

But you shouldn’t really worry about the winner,

Come on!

It's a cricket fever after all!!
